- Great Shelter, great overall value!

Quality Price Value Before purchasing anything I research products to death to ensure I find the best item for the price. I came across the Killzone Igloo products and read some great reviews online which convinced me to make a purchase. I am very happy with the purchase! Just got off the lake today after a good 4 hours of fishing with two adults and a 9 year old. There was good room in the shelter and we were warm the entire time with winds blowing 15 to 20 mph on the lake and snow squalls, didn't even know how nasty it was outside until we got ready to pack up.
Setup:
I set it up the shelter by myself i the wind and was pretty happy with how well it went. As recommended I put one screw in the corner then started to get the shelter up. The shelter top and sides pop out very easy, once you get the top popped out and one side it takes a few seconds to get the rest fo the tent up. Because of the wind I put a screw in each corner and two support ropes on the windward side of the tent. Didn't have any issues once everything was set, went inside, drilled two holes and started fishing. I was impressed at how well the screws went into the ice, you have to push and keep turning but they suddenly catch and drill right through the ice quickly.
Room:
My son and I were fishing at first then a friend joined us, with only two of us in the shelter there was plenty of room, adding a third person was possible but made things a little tight. Maybe some better hole locations would help fit 3 in the shelter. The window shades were nice and quick to adjust, we left them up for most of the trip to keep it dark in the shelter. The shelter does have two small vents that keep some air moving. It would be nice to have some way to close those when the winds are blowing like crazy, I probably need to just set up the tent a little different so those vents are not facing the windward side of the shelter.
Takedown:
We pulled the support ropes off, pulled the screws out and collapsed the shelter in a few minutes. It folds up nice and you have to stuff it in the bag, can be a struggle in the cold but it goes in. I carried it out and back on my back as a backpack, worked great. Shelter size works great for me since I do not have a truck and have to fit all my stuff in a sedan.
Looking forward to more trips onto the ice, having a nice shelter makes the day MUCH nicer, spent to many hours on the ice without one and nearly freezing to death :)Review by Western NY Fisher
