Figuring out how to tear down a pop up blind can be a bit tricky your first time out, but once you figure out how to do it, it’s a simple, 2-minute process. See the steps below for a breakdown on how to fold the Turret Pop Up Blind by KillZone Hunting.

Pull out all of the stakes around the outside of the blind.

Remove all ground stakes.

Remove the poles from inside the blind. Undo the hook and loop fastener that attaches the poles to the roof. Pull the poles out of the corner pockets and pull apart the sections to fold them. Set the poles aside.

Remove the poles from inside the blind.

Make sure all the windows and doors are closed before tearing down the pop up blind.

Close all windows and doors.

Fold the blind in half by grabbing two corners of the blind and pushing one corner into the center of the blind. You now have two sides of the blind facing you.

Fold blind in half.

Grab the ends of the blind and fold it in half one more time to make a sort of figure-eight pattern.

Hold the pop up blind together with one hand and fold in one end of the blind, grabbing it with the hand holding the blind together.

Tighten up the circle if necessary, and stuff the excess material into the blind so that it doesn’t catch on the bag.

Knowing how to set up your ground blind will reduce the chances of poles or hubs breaking, and it will help you get in position quickly and easily for the hunt. Practice setting up and tearing down your pop up ground blind so that you’re comfortable with the process before you try it in the wee hours of the morning out in the field.

Ground Blind Setup Instructions

Unzip the carrying case, making sure to pinch the ground blind together to keep it from unfolding as you remove the case.

Hold on to the blind as you pull it out of the bag.

Remove the two sets of poles from the carrying case and place them to the side for now.

Remove the stakes from the bag and set them aside.

To open the ground blind, place one hand on each section of the blind and separate the two sections, allowing the blind to slowly open up into a full circle.

Separate the two round sections to open the blind.

Set the bottom of the blind on the ground and hold on to the top of the ground blind.

Keep one hand on top of the ground blind.

Grab the two sections of the circle and open it up to reveal two sides of the blind.

Open up the two sides of the blind.

Reach one hand into the center of the two sides to grab the frame and pull it towards you, turning the blind into four sides.

Reach in to the middle of the blind and pull it out to open up all four sides.

Assemble the poles end to end.

Assemble the poles end to end.

Secure the end of a pole in the sleeve in one of the bottom corners of the blind. Secure the opposite end of the pole in the sleeve at the opposite corner. Do the same for the other pole in the opposite corners of the blind.

Insert the end of the pole into the sleeve.

Secure the two poles together in the center of the roof with the attached hook and loop fastener.

Attach the two poles to the hook and loop fastener on the roof.

Stake your ground blind down with the included stakes to keep the wind from blowing it away.

Stake down the blind to secure it.

Now you’re ready to hunt!

Turret XL Blind

“Couldn’t be more please with my purchase. Forget the instructions, watch the online video…and it is as easy to put up as the guys show. Very study, water repellent just enough room for two people. Shooting through the screens works like they say. Doesn’t affect your arrow trajectory. Also impressed with shipping and tracking info that is emailed to me at every step of the way.”
- Jim A., Colorado

“This is the first blind that I have owned and I could not be happier. This blind is so easy to set up that it took me all of 60 seconds out of the box on the first try. The inside is very roomy and fit me and my two boys 17 and 15. I think the construction is of great quality and will stand up to many years of hunting. Opening morning we had 3 bucks 6 does, one coyote and a turkey walk right by us. You could not beat the price for this blind based on the size and quality. If you are looking for a high quality blind do not hesitate purchasing this one.”
- J. Ryan

“We were very pleased with the blind. We ordered it for our son for Christmas and then ordered another for my husband after seeing the first one.”
- C. Randall

2 Person Chair Blind

2 Shooter Chair Blind

“Grandson and I used this blind. We sat for a couple hours through a thunder storm and it had only a few slow leaks. I had to reinforce the stitching on the “chair leg holders”, because it was not quite strong enough and coated outside cover with a water repellent spray. I like the versatility of this stand good color pattern, and quite comfortable, I may add. Well worth the money I paid for it. They just need to put more or use heaver stitching.”
- Aenon, Georgia

Pop Up Blind

“Great blind for the price. It is light so it may need staked down. Plenty of room and easy to set up. Velcro on the windows are loud.”
- S. Mishler

“Great product–fits my turkey and deer hunting blind needs!! Like the light weight-14 lbs.”
- Roger S.

Layout Blind

“Had problem with push buttons on head rest and a fiber connector snapping in extreme cold. Customer service was pleasant and responsive and replaced with new blind. Would recommend.”
- D. Jones

“It is a good product. It works like they say it does and does the job. The only thing is its not made for healthy people. By that I mean us more rotund fat boys. I can barely close the flaps all the way and be comfortable. Other than that no complaints at all.”
- Chance Burnett

It sets up quick and easy, gives you convenient cover wherever you need it, and breaks up your outline even in the open field.

a

Why Use a Ground Blind?

There are a lot of benefits to turkey hunting from a ground blind. Sitting in a blind is much more comfortable than lying on your stomach in the field or leaning against a tree. Plus, it’s never much fun to sit in the rain or the cold wind, but with a hunting blind, you can stay out in the field while other hunters head home to escape the bad weather.

Stay Hidden

Set up some decoys near the blind and fill the stubble straps with nearby vegetation to distract the turkeys from your blind. Some hunters say that unlike deer, turkeys will strut within inches of their blind without paying it the least bit of attention.

Bring the Kids

Ground blinds are also great for taking kids out with you. Younger kids have the freedom to move around or take a nap inside the blind. Ground blinds are also great for using video cameras. You can easily film the hunt from inside the blind.

Super cool blind. I’m a outdoors photography fan, and I have a bunch of friends that loves hunting, the deer season just started, I got me the Canon 300 mm f/2.8 (super cool lens) and my biggest concern of this product was the inside space, Well let me tell you some thing, you have plenty for a long lens, monopod, pro camera and your camera bag. This weekend I’ll go to test it in a hunting ranch in Mexico, to try it in real live and I’m sure it will perform fantastic. The assembly’s system couldn’t be easier “dumb proof”, just pool the blind out of it bag, pull and play. For wild life photography is a great asset.

I like the KillZone material better and that is why I purchased their brand.

…The 4 window combinations are very versatile allowing you different combinations of shooting angles.
Which type of fastener is on your blind makes a difference in how silent or noisy your blind will be. Velcro and zippers are noisier than magnets. Because of this, more blind manufacturers are moving toward the use of magnets instead of the traditional Velcro and zipper fasteners.

Have you ever tried to open a Velcro wallet in the back of a silent auditorium? People way in the front will turn and stare to see where all that racket is coming from. The same thing can happen with the Velcro or zippered window on your ground blind. Except it will be deer who turn to stare instead of people.

Most hunting blinds use Velcro, zippers, or magnets–or a combination of these three–to fasten the doors and windows. Which type of fastener is on your blind makes a difference in how silent or noisy your blind will be. Velcro and zippers are noisier than magnets. Because of this, more blind manufacturers are moving toward the use of magnets instead of the traditional Velcro and zipper fasteners.

Where the Velcro, zippers, or magnets are located on the blind also makes a difference in how much of a noise problem they can create. A zipper for the door is less of a problem than zippers for the windows. Once you get inside the blind and close the door, you probably won’t need to open it very often. The fastenings on the windows and shoot-thru mesh, on the other hand, are more important because you may need to open or close a window while game is nearby.

Don’t let a noisy blind ruin the hunt. The best ground blinds use quiet fasteners to let you adjust your blind and windows as needed without alerting wildlife.

Which type of blind works best for you? Hub style, pop up, layout, and chair blinds.

With all the different kinds of hunting blinds out there, we’ve put together a few tips to help make it easier to choose which blind will work best for your hunting style. Here are a few insights into the world of hunting blinds.

Of all the popular types of ground blinds, here are the four that we’re going to cover here: hub style blinds, pop up blinds, layout blinds, and chair blinds.

a

Hub Style Blinds

a

Hub Style Blind

Hub style blinds give you the greatest amount of “fidget” room when the waiting makes you restless. You’re free to move around from window to window without attracting the attention of wildlife. Your shadow and movement is swallowed up by the black-out interior and camouflage screens.

a

You also get great visibility, with large and small windows on all sides of the blind. On the downside, its more roomy interior makes the hub style blind more difficult to conceal, so if you’re trying to keep a low profile in an open area, it may not be the best choice for you.

a

Pop Up Blinds

Pop up blinds are easy to set up and easy to carry to your hunting spot. Like the hub style blind, you can move around without blowing your cover. You still get great visibility on all sides of the cover, but the pop up blinds are generally a bit smaller than the hub style, which makes them a little easier to conceal.

a

Layout Blinds

Layout blinds are popular for hunting waterfowl. With their low profile and small size, it’s easier to conceal the blind in open fields and stubble. You also get a great overhead view and shooting range, and since you’re lying down, you won’t get a crick in your neck from looking overhead, like you would in a sit-down blind.

a

Chair Blinds

The greatest asset of chair blinds is their convenience. Instead of carrying a blind and chair separately, you’ve got it all in one compact case. If you’re looking to cut down on the equipment you have to haul in, check out these chair blinds. You can get a smaller one for single hunters or a larger one for two hunters. Since you can only see out the front and sides, chair blinds are best for setups that don’t require 360-degree visibility.
