The guys over at BowHunterPlanet.com posted a hunting review for the KillZone Turret XL hub style ground blind with Zero Detect camo. Along with a basic overview of the features the Turret XL has to offer, the review covers some of the benefits of the blind, including its generous size and unique camouflage pattern.

Here is an excerpt from the review:

“This has to be one of the best ground blinds on the market today. This Hub Style portable blind was easy to set up and has enough room to fit a hunter and cameraman/caller. The Blind also features easy to use windows with shoot through mesh. The blind sits at 66” center height and 72” x 72” hub to hub. The blind features scent-dampening carbon stealth protection, black out interior with open floor, Zero Detect camo, 4 Full Size Windows with mesh, triangle roof hatch with zipper closure and weighs only 14lbs. The blind gives hunters an advantage when hunting on the ground. With the unique camo pattern and extensive space this blind fits pretty much any hunting application.”

KillZone Waterfowl Layout Blind Review on Nodak Outdoors Forum

Filed under: Hunting Reviews, Waterfowl Hunting — Tags: , , — Esther @ 5:33 pm

There’s been some buzz over the KillZone Lay ‘n Slay© Layout Hunting Blind on the goose hunting forum at NodakOutdoors.com. See what a couple of goose hunters have to say about the blind:

KillZone layout blind in the field

KillZone layout blind in the field

Goose hunter Kelly H. received his order from KillZone Hunting for the Lay ‘n Slay© Hunting Blind and had this to say about his new blind:

a

“Well it arrived today. It has a powder coat metal frame, not aluminum. Doesn’t matter to me. It seems like there might be some kind of insulation in the bottom of the feet area. Very roomy, but the side zippers are kind of small. I think it will be very hard to flag with them. The back rest, head support seemed comfy, nothing under my butt or shoulders. The cushion seemed ok. It has heavier material that most, and the floor feels like it has some kind of rubberized coating. It is only khaki color, but with a little help and time should be ok.”

After some back-and-forth bantering, another hunter replied, “I really hope the blind works out. If it does you got it for a heck of a steal. As for flagging out the sides, I find that to be a pain in most blinds. I try it every now and then but I usually find myself keeping it right behind my blind with the handle just a few inches from my head. That seems to be the only place I can always find it when I need it.”

Kelly then responded with some further comments on the new layout blind: “I don’t know what it will be like in the field, and I know it will take a lot of stubble to camo it up, but it seems comfy in the garage. Just takes a little getting used to. I have never been in one before, so I’m not a good judge. I have a Cabelas brand (used), and an F A SUB (new) coming. So I will have something to compare too.

So far I like the Kill Zone, my Cabelas doesn’t cover your face, but it has a lot more inside room and more comfortable head and back support. I think the Kill Zone has heavier fabric and better supports for the doors. The KZ also has thin insulation on foot box floor, the Cab. Doesn’t.”

KillZone Turret XL Hunting Blind Forum Comments

Autumn Wooded Oak camo

Autumn Wooded Oak camo

The KillZone Turret XL Ground Blind has hunters talking. Priced at only $99 and offering many of the same features as the top brands, the Turret XL offers spacious room, quiet window closures, shoot through mesh, roof hatch, carbon scent block, and two choices of camo patterns.

a

Here’s what a couple of Michigan hunters have to say about their Turret XL blinds:

“I have a KillZone Turret XL, and it’s great! With 11 shooting windows (all have shoot through mesh) and a roof hatch, there’s no limit to the opportunities to use it.” (Longhair)

“Bought two of the KillZone Turret-XL blinds this year and am pretty impressed so far. 6×6 inside and 66 inch center. Also has a zippered roof hatch so you can stand up for a spell just to look around. For $99.00 shipped to my door and removable mesh windows I couldn’t beat it.

Zero Detect camo

I really can’t find anything I don’t like about it for the money spent. The camo pattern and fabric are very acceptable imo. Sheen doesn’t seem bad at all, much less than the Ameristeps I have owned. The material is pretty tight, so flap in the wind is of no concern to me. The hubs are of some type plastic material [now made of lightweight steel], but I found them fully functional during the muzzleloader season. No problem with the tiedown points, at the top or sides. The stakes are cheap, but I didn’t find them needed anyway….

a

But for $99, and to my door in 3 days, I don’t hesitate to recommend it to the “cost” concious. I bought two, and my bro in law liked what he saw, and he also bought one.

I would give it at least an 8 1/2 of 10 rating. Better, but one of the window loop keepers needed a little more thread to hold it in place. For the money spent, I’m pleased. Can’t say that for a lot of things I bought over the years.” (Don)

Chair Blind Review

KillZone Single Shooter Chair Blind - clearly designed by someone who uses it

KillZone Single Shooter Chair Blind - "clearly designed by someone who uses it"

If you’re looking for the best portable chair blind for your next hunting or wildlife expedition, take a look at this chair blind review from a KillZone customer:

a

“I’ve had one of these chairs for nearly two years now, am generally very impressed with it. I’m a big guy…6ft tall and 275 pounds. After using it for my wildlife photography probably 40 times, I finally broke one of the grommets on the chair seat. Having said that, I’m ready to order another one, because it’s WAY better the first “cheapo” camo-chair that I had before (it only lasted for about 10 sessions before completely collapsing, and it didn’t have as much camo coverage.

This product was clearly designed by someone who uses it. It has plenty of room in front of the seat for a gear-bag, and with two zippers on each window you have good flexibility with creating right-sized peepholes. Although I haven’t tested water-tightness myself, it looks like it should hold up well (certainly with a little CampDry sprayed on the fabric). It’s very easy to pack and unpack, a quick-disconnect belt (sewn to the fabric) wraps around the unit once the spring-metal frame is compressed. The carrying bag even has backpack straps, but you may want to add your own bungee cord across your chest to keep the strap from sliding off your shoulders.”

- Ken Agee

The KillZone Single Shooter Chair Blind offers concealment and comfortable seating all in one lightweight package. This blind is the perfect for hunting or observing wildlife on your own. 360 Hunting Blind Review

360 Hunting Blind

360 Hunting Blind

The 360 Hub Style Ground Blind is great for turkey hunting, deer hunting, and even duck hunting with the zip-open roof window. It offers 360-degree visibility, with no blind spots where game can sneak by you.

a

Here’s a ground blind review on the 360 Hub Style from one of our customers, posted on the forum at USAHuntingPros.com:

Post Subject: KillZone 360 Hub Style Ground Blind

“Just got mine today and I can’t wait to try this thing out in the woods. I popped the blind up tonight inside and I couldn’t believe how easy it was.…

The size of this thing is awesome. From corner to corner 72”x72” and there is plenty of room for movement, seats, heaters, and two people can fit comfortably for those who like to film or hunt with another person.…

So far this thing looks awesome and I can’t wait to put it to the test come season to see how it holds up to the weather and outdoor climates. For the price, I don’t think you can beat it.”

In a follow-up post a few months later…

“Just an update on the blind. I used it all during turkey season and couldn’t of been more happy with my purchase. It withstood some nasty weather and high winds and did not once pull out from the ground or get any damage. The blind has plenty of room for two people and has quiet zippers and attachments to open and close the windows.

I rate this as the best blind I have purchased so far for its price.”

“Couldn’t be more please with my purchase. Forget the instructions, watch the online video…and it is as easy to put up as the guys show. Very study, water repellent just enough room for two people. Shooting through the screens works like they say. Doesn’t affect your arrow trajectory. Also impressed with shipping and tracking info that is emailed to me at every step of the way.”
- Jim A., Colorado

“This is the first blind that I have owned and I could not be happier. This blind is so easy to set up that it took me all of 60 seconds out of the box on the first try. The inside is very roomy and fit me and my two boys 17 and 15. I think the construction is of great quality and will stand up to many years of hunting. Opening morning we had 3 bucks 6 does, one coyote and a turkey walk right by us. You could not beat the price for this blind based on the size and quality. If you are looking for a high quality blind do not hesitate purchasing this one.”
- J. Ryan

“We were very pleased with the blind. We ordered it for our son for Christmas and then ordered another for my husband after seeing the first one.”
- C. Randall

“Grandson and I used this blind. We sat for a couple hours through a thunder storm and it had only a few slow leaks. I had to reinforce the stitching on the “chair leg holders”, because it was not quite strong enough and coated outside cover with a water repellent spray. I like the versatility of this stand good color pattern, and quite comfortable, I may add. Well worth the money I paid for it. They just need to put more or use heaver stitching.”
- Aenon, Georgia

Pop Up Blind

“Great blind for the price. It is light so it may need staked down. Plenty of room and easy to set up. Velcro on the windows are loud.”
- S. Mishler

“Great product–fits my turkey and deer hunting blind needs!! Like the light weight-14 lbs.
- Roger S.

Layout Blind

“Had problem with push buttons on head rest and a fiber connector snapping in extreme cold. Customer service was pleasant and responsive and replaced with new blind. Would recommend.”
- D. Jones

“It is a good product. It works like they say it does and does the job. The only thing is its not made for healthy people. By that I mean us more rotund fat boys. I can barely close the flaps all the way and be comfortable. Other than that no complaints at all.”
- Chance Burnett

Super cool blind. I’m a outdoors photography fan, and I have a bunch of friends that loves hunting, the deer season just started, I got me the Canon 300 mm f/2.8 (super cool lens) and my biggest concern of this product was the inside space, Well let me tell you some thing, you have plenty for a long lens, monopod, pro camera and your camera bag. This weekend I’ll go to test it in a hunting ranch in Mexico, to try it in real live and I’m sure it will perform fantastic. The assembly’s system couldn’t be easier “dumb proof”, just pool the blind out of it bag, pull and play. For wild life photography is a great asset.

- Miguel

Nice two man blind for the money. I have not had a chance to use it hunting this year. Purchased it after hunting season. But I used a one man version from a competitor and found it to be a must for deer hunting. I like the KillZone material better and that is why I purchased their brand.

I used the blind this year and it was great. I would recommend it as a good tool.

- E. Diem

Came in record time, excellent condition, excellent blind, I could not be happier. Thank You.

- P. Rose

Fast delivery, easy setup, teardown and packing very quick, great wind break, shoot out 4 sides, all you need is a chair to sit on and maybe a cargo tarp for flooring. Excellent product. Great price.

- N. Svoma

nice blind for the price. one thing is that I have a 30 inch draw length and it’s just to big for this size blind, i have to keep the back window open for my draw arm to go out, so if you have a long draw keep that in mind. other than that it’s great for crossbow and firearms!

The Turret Pop Up Blind is "light, easy to set up, and easy to carry."

Our customers are raving about the Turret Pop Up Hunting Blind. Here are just a few hunting reviews we’ve received for the Turret Blind.

a

“I did a lot of research on this blind and many others before I decided on this particular blind. I think the three factors that helped me decide on this one were price, camo color and ease of operation.

…The 4 window combinations are very versatile allowing you different combinations of shooting angles. I think the blind will be just as user friendly for a bowhunter as well as for someone using a rifle. It is also big enough for two people to use without any discomfort.”

- R. Harrison

“This blind is pretty big and can accommodate two people. It is light, easy to set up, and easy to carry around thanks to the carry bag. You get a good blind for the money.”
